I officially met my word count goal for Inharmonic last week. It feels like it has been a long time coming, and while I’m not completely finished with my rough draft yet, I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. With two chapters to go, I’m feeling really good about the size of the story.
If this novel was a latte, it would be a solid grande.
As much as I wanted to rejoice at meeting my goal, I settled for a little happy dance in my seat and a quick snapshot of proof to Instagram. POIDH, right? I’m reserving the serious celebrating for the moment I type THE END on my rough draft.
So, what were the gripping words that brought the word count to an even 100,000?
Drum roll…
“And you’re sure it was him?”
I know, I know. I wish it could have been something a little more exciting, but it is what it is.
In the mean time, I’ve just started writing the final confrontation between my protagonist, Nadja, and her nemesis. The end is near!
I think that’s an engaging line! Esp since it could have several different meanings considering where I am in the story right now!
Haha, thanks! It really could mean so many things about so many people. 🙂
